Review’s move to Winslow is a welcome return home | Our Opinion | Aug. 19

Fortunately, the Review’s office is returning (as you read this) to the downtown area after being located in a Day Road industrial park for four years. The move from The Pavilion occurred in 2007 when Sound Publishing (our corporate parent) shifted its headquarters to Poulsbo and left vacant the second story of the building containing Sound’s press and pre-press operations.

When Sound bought more than a dozen community newspapers in east King County several years ago, the purchase included printing presses that were relocated to Everett, and eventually led to the December 2008 closure of the Day Road press facility. That promised the Review’s eventual return to the downtown core, but it was delayed until the two buildings owned by Sound off Day Road could be leased out.

The Review’s new home is located at 911 Hildebrand Lane, Suite 202, which is on the second floor above Kitsap Physical Therapy. We’re still a few blocks from Winslow Way or Madison Avenue West, but it’s close enough for people to feel comfortable dropping in for an impromptu visit. The move also gets the Review staff much closer to our friends, sources and advertisers. There’s also plenty of parking, so come see us, beginning at 8 a.m. Monday when our doors open for business in our new home.

We don’t anticipate any major headaches or problems during the move, but there will be a few technology-related glitches while Sound’s IT staff transfers our computer and phone systems. Phone interruptions are expected Friday and Monday, so please email the following Review employees so we may contact you in return: Editor Dennis Anstine at danstine@bainbridgereview.com; Administrative Coordinator Pam Murray at pmurray@bainbridgereview.com; and Circulation Coordinator Bob Green at circulation@bainbridgereview.com, or leave a voice mail when calling 842-6613, ext. 6050, leaving your email and home address.

Thanks for your patience, and, again, please stop by for a visit.
