Track
Ella McRichie placed third in the pole vault for Bainbridge, with a mark of 13 feet, at the state 3A track meet at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma. Amanda Noll of Capital won with a vault of 14-6.
Spartan Allie Wildsmith was sixth in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet 2 inches. Jayden Smith of Southridge won with a 5-5.
Matt Le Dorze of BHS finished 13th in the 100 meters with his time of 11.75 seconds. Jaylen McCabe of Silas won with a 10.96.
Tennis
The Bainbridge girls doubles team placed seventh in the state 3A tennis tourney in Richland.
Freshmen Elle Schuchman and Malia Lemieux lost the match for fourth place to Megan Kolenski-Mariella Procarelli of Lakeside in Seattle 6-1, 6-2.
They won their first match 6-1, 6-4 over Margaret Steward-Mia Morgan of Thomas Jefferson. But they lost in the second round to Kate Parsons-Ava Loop of Lakeside 6-0, 6-3. Saturday they won their first match over Hannah Couch-Diyahnara Lockhart of Auburn Riverside before losing their last one.
Ella Parker lost her first-round match against Janie Buckingham of Kennewick 3-6, 6-3, 6-1. She was then knocked out of the tourney with a 6-1, 6-0 loss to Amber Edmonds of Lakeside.
High school boys tennis is in the fall, but they also play at state in the spring. From Bainbridge, the doubles team of Brogan Rice and Aiden McLennan competed but quickly exited, losing in the first round to Brandon Chrew-Noah Perlman of Mercer Island 6-1, 6-2.
Water polo
Bainbridge won its opening matchup at state with a 13-5 victory over Peninsula.
BHS had five players named all-league. Kristine Dupont and Vivian Morrow made the first team, Maja Carroll and Lila Schroer the second, and Amelia Frank was honorable mention.
Golf
At the 3A tournament at Liberty Lake near Spokane, for the Bainbridge boys, Justin Martin and Ryan Sturham both shot 82; Dane Byers an 89; and Andrew Jobes a 97 on the first day.
Max Herendeen of Bishop Blanchett won the tournament with rounds of 68 and 63 for a 131 total.
For the Bainbridge girls, Grace Charintranont shot a 91; Sara Kriegh a 99; Hailey Fink a 105; Tate Treverton a 119; and Makena Miller withdrew. Charintranont then shot a 112.
Bernice Stolte of Bellevue was the winner with a 73 the first day but a blistering 65 the second for a 138 total.
Mat Le Dorze of Bainbridge was right with the pack, but just missed the finals of the 100 meters.
