The “Year of the Sea” is a yearlong, island-wide celebration using the arts to bring awareness to Bainbridge Island’s 53 miles of shoreline and relationship with the Salish Sea.
This year, poems selected for Poetry Corners, the annual display of poems by local poets in storefront windows around town, explore themes such as boats, tides, crossings and shells.
Presented by the Bainbridge Island Arts and Humanities Council, Poetry Corners also includes a reading of poems from 7-10 p.m. April 16 at Flowering Around, 200 Winslow Way.
Participating poets include Nancy Rekow, Kristin Tollefson, Kristen Gard-Hotchkiss, Roger Midgett, Jane Pearson, Patrick Dixon, Bob McAllister, Diane Walker, Ronda Broatch, Gerald Elfendahl, Jennifer Coates, Rachel Nova, Lee Fredrickson, Erik Petterson, Virginia Davison, Robert Burmer, Martha Wakenshaw, Charles Sharpe, Beth Boel, Kerrie Agosta, Jan Prichard-Cohen, Eileen Clifford Rasmussen, John Davis, Linda Owens and Julie Hall, Beverly West, Christine Wyatt, Jay Payne, B.
