The Kitsap County Medical Examiner’s Office reported Feb. 8 that the remains of a man have been identified as Derek Kym Foshay, 41, of Kitsap County.

On Jan. 26, the office asked for the public’s help in identifying remains that were found Oct. 21, 2022 in Bremerton.

A description of the body and a forensic facial sketch was released.

The public provided a lot of information. And the remains were identified through medical and dental records.

The remains were located in an area inhabited by homeless people near Auto Center Way and Harlow Drive in Bremerton.

The body was decomposed, and no identification was located. An autopsy showed no identifying marks.The body was clothed in brown leather low-top, lace-up shoes, and blue elastic waist pants. There were glasses located near the body.
