A Bellevue man has been charged with murder following a series of stabbings at an addiction recovery home that left two people dead and two others with life-threatening injuries.

Police were called to the 9000 block of Central Valley Road at 8:45 p.m. Feb. 19 after receiving multiple 911 calls from inside the residence. The callers reported the suspect, 29-year-old Sterling Traven, later identified as a resident of the home, had stabbed multiple people and was still inside.

Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office and the State Patrol officers arrived within minutes. Deputies and a trooper heard a noise as they approached the house. The noise led them to Traven, who was hiding in the brush with a butcher knife. Officials say he was arrested immediately.

Officers found two people deceased, 51-year-old William Foust and 59-year-old Retha Price of Bremerton. The other two victims, both men, were given emergency treatment on-site by deputies and Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue before being airlifted to hospitals across Puget Sound.

Traven was treated for minor injuries at St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale and is being held without bail at the Kitsap County Jail in Port Orchard.
