Students disembark from the buses outside of Ordway Elementary School last week on their way to the first day of classes.
Some squealed with delight, others gazed about intimidated — and at least one yawned (or did he scream?), perhaps recalling sleepy summer days.
According to school district officials, student enrollment is up from last year, with a preliminary count of 3,843
Assistant Superintendent Erin Murphy and Superintendent Peter Bang-Knudsen were also there to greet students on their way back.
