Every year over 600 teams qualify and compete at the largest state run basketball tournament in Spokane, the Washington Middle School Basketball Championship.
This year, five teams from the Bainbridge Island Roots program played. The eighth-grade boys team went 3-1 and placed third in state, while the seventh-grade boys placed fourth. The select feeder club is for boys and girls from fourth- through eighth-grades. They travel to tournaments and prepare players for high school and beyond.
