Bail was set at $250,000 in Kitsap County Superior Court May 10 for a 50-year-old Port Orchard man charged with third-degree rape and furnishing liquor to a minor.
He faces six years in prison and $15,000 in fines.
Court papers say Kitsap deputies responded early May 6 to a rape. The 18-year-old victim is friends with a relative of the suspect. Over about five hours the suspect poured up to 14 Tequila shots. The victim exited the camper to vomit, and the suspect led her to his bedroom in the main residence. The victim was on the verge of passing out when the rape occurred. It stopped when two others worried about her entered the room.
The suspect was arrested May 9.
Beer money
A 59-year-old Bremerton man said in police records that he sells low quantities of illegal drugs to “people who want to party” so he can have money for beer and gas.
Bail was set at $150,000 in Superior Court May 14. He was charged with second-degree assault and possession with intent to deliver meth. He faces 20 years in prison and more than $21,000 in fines.
Court papers say Bremerton police responded to an assault at the intersection of Ostrich Bay Avenue and Kitsap Way Jan. 24 at 11:18 p.m.
The victim suffered multiple face and head injuries and was knocked unconscious. The fight was a property dispute. The victim knew the suspect, whom police found at a local hotel. During a search of the suspect police found fentanyl and meth.
High bail
Bail was set high at $150,000 because the suspect has been wanted on a warrant since December 2022.
The 37-year-old Tukwila man was in Superior Court May 15. He is charged with second-degree identity theft. He faces five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Court records show Bremerton police received a report of a stolen vehicle Aug. 12, 2022. It was recovered the next day. But the victim had her credit card stolen and used at a nearby gas station. Video from there showed the man, who was arrested Aug. 25 that year for malicious mischief. He was linked to the previous crime.
Bloody fight
A 23-year-old Bremerton man faces life in prison after a fight because he has been convicted twice before of “most serious offense” crimes.
Bail is set at $100,000 in Superior Court for the man charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree assault and violation of a court order. He faces life in prison plus at least 11 years, and $75,000 or more in fines.
Court records show Bremerton police responded March 16 at 9:02 p.m. to the intersection of Hefner and Elm streets in Bremerton. Police saw a man with a bloody face climb out of a home with a broken window. The suspect was in a car and took off.
The man with the bloody face said his sister called him to come over as she was afraid of the suspect. He is the father of their child, whom he came over to see, despite the protection order. She said he assaulted her. Another brother came over, and the three men fought.
Child molestation
A 37-year-old Olalla man was charged in Kitsap County Superior Court May 7 with second-degree child molestation.
He faces 10 years in prison and $20,000 in fines. However, he will likely face life in prison without parole as he’s been convicted twice before of “most serious offense.”
Court papers say Kitsap officers responded March 9 at 10:47 a.m. to the 15500 block of Cedar Park Road SE. The woman said her daughter had been sexually abused by her ex-boyfriend, who was already in the county jail on similar charges of rape and child molestation. The man was arrested in October of 2023 and was awaiting trial.
The mom had tried previously to see if anything had happened to her daughter, but she had remained silent. But that day the daughter spoke out about the sexual abuse while on the phone to her “father figure,” who is a prisoner at Coyote Ridge.
The girl would not talk to officers, but the mom relayed what she had been told. She dated the suspect for four years. Their family moved in with the boyfriend, but the mom said he would only pay attention to the daughter, not her son. The mom said the suspect had touched her daughter’s body while on the couch and bed, the girl had said.
During a forensic interview days later, the girl said the man touched her on five occasions. She recalled pushing his hand away or slapping three of the times.
ID theft
A 32-year-old Port Orchard man was being held on $150,000 bail and in Superior Court May 7 charged with identity theft and violation of a court order.
He faces at least six years in prison and $15,000 in fines.
Court records show Kitsap officers went to the 3200 block of SE Lund Avenue in Port Orchard at 1:17 p.m. May 6.
The deputy saw a man who was wanted on a warrant. He was detained after a short foot chase. He was not supposed to be with the woman he was with because of a protection order. Also, six identifications and credit/debit cards were found in his backpack that did not belong to him. Bail was set at $100,000.
Sex offender
A 28-year-old transient was in Superior Court May 8 after being arrested on a warrant for failing to register as a sex offender.
He faces 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. Bail was $50,000.
Court records show Kitsap officers say in reports that the man was convicted in March of 2020 of failing to register for the third time. He is supposed to register until 2036. He was initially required to register after conviction in Mason County as a juvenile of rape of a child.
