Help with remains
The Kitsap County Medical Examiner’s Office is in possession of the remains of the following eight people who are considered either indigent or abandoned.
The office would like to place the remains with family or friends. If that doesn’t happen by June 28, remains will be interred at the Silverdale Pioneer Cemetery at a public ceremony tentatively scheduled for July 13 at 10 a.m. If you can help call the medical examiner’s office at 360-731-6843.
The remains are of: Renee Lambert, Linda Weglin, Glen Bui, Timothy Matthew Papillon, Leslea Maxwell, Leona Perry, Harley Robertson and Mark Mayberry.
Sewage spill
A no-contact advisory has been issued for Kitsap Lake through June 9 due to a 1,200-gallon sewage spill.
Warning signs will be posted at public access points. The sewage spill was reported by the Bremerton Public Works Department.
During a no-contact advisory, avoid contact with water in the affected area. The Kitsap Public Health District recommends against swimming, wading or other types of water recreation that could cause you to swallow water or get water into your mouth, nose or eyes. Avoid direct skin contact with the water if possible and immediately wash with soap and clean water if you have exposure to the water.
