Marine Corps Lt. Col Harvey T. Schwartz recently retired from active duty after 24 years of service.

Schwartz is the son of retired Marine Corps Lt. Col. Thomas E. and stepson of Marti E. Schwartz of San Diego, Calif., and son of Kathleen M. and stepson of retired Marine Corps Lt. Col. Stephen J. Jennings of Bainbridge Island.

Schwartz most recently served with U.S. Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He is a 1984 graduate of Mission Viejo High School of Mission Viejo, Calif. and joined the Marine Corps in May 1988.
