As many as four high school football teams in Kitsap County will see postseason action in the 2A Round of 32 this weekend, while the county’s sole 1A school earned quite the shock when it was selected to advance to that classification’s Round of 24.
The Klahowya Eagles were given the final seed in 1A after finishing third in the Nisqually League. The school had already scheduled a regular season week 10 game against South Whidbey before it was announced.
As the last seed, their matchup will be the toughest as it will travel to Royal City to clash with the four-time defending champion Royal Knights, who last lost a football game Sept. 24, 2022. Game time is set for Nov. 8 at 5:30 p.m.
North Kitsap’s nearly perfect run through the Olympic League to overcome an 0-3 start was enough to earn the Vikings the No. 15 seed, granting them a home contest against No. 18 East Valley (Yakima). Game time is set for Nov. 8 at 6 p.m., per NK athletic director Billy Rodgers.
Olympic also earned a home contest as the No. 11 seed, the top seed out of qualifying Olympic League teams. It will host No. 22 Washougal. Game time is set for Nov. 8 at 6:30 p.m.
Bainbridge, despite finishing alongside Olympic and NK in league standings and finishing the regular season ranked No. 13 in RPI, has the harshest draw of the group. They will travel to the Idaho border as the No. 17 seed to take on No. 16 Clarkston Nov. 9 at 1 p.m.
Bremerton’s path to the postseason will be determined by a play-in game against Washington High School Nov. 5.
