Chris Whited attaches a water wheel, the finishing touch to his unique construction project on High School Road.

Chris says, “It’s been a challenge all the way with every rafter a different length and every angle different.”

Some people have asked, “How did you ever get this plan through the city of Bainbridge Island?”

Chris assures, “They’ve been very supportive, looking at it from a purely structural point of view. It’s double stud construction and very energy efficient. They kind of like it because it’s something different.”

And it’s been wondrous to watch all summer.
