The carts may look familiar to those islanders who attended the Fourth of July celebration, as the Pack did ride several of them during the parade.

“Each Cub Mobile was built and individualized by the Cub Scout racing,” explained Scout Master Alex Brown. “We had a total of eight cubs race.  With the beautiful weather we had two different competitions, one was to see which Cub [and] Cub Mobile was fastest, and which could travel the farthest.”

The speed race was double elimination, and the winners were: third place, Spencer Grady; second place, Wyatt Reed; and first place, Remington Brown.

The distance winners were: third place, Conor Grady; second place, Antonio Brown; and first place, Spencer Grady.

“We look forward to next year and will be issuing some challenges to race other packs on the island,” Brown said.
