Eagle Harbor Marina, located on the south side of Eagle Harbor across from the Washington State Ferry maintenance facility, has a new owner.
The majority interest in the marina was recently acquired by Eagle Harbor Partners, LLP, headed by Bainbridge resident Bob Wise, the new man in charge at the marina.
The location, long a favorite for both residents and visiting vessels, will be the subject of an extensive renovation soon, Wise announced.
“Our first effort will be to completely rebuild the facility,” Wise said.
“The current facilities are literally worn out. When finished, the marina will offer industry-leading amenities and environmental protections as part of Washington State’s Clean Marina Program,” he added.
Slips, ranging in size from 36 to 90 feet in length, are available to lease on an annual basis.
The remodel is expected to be completed this winter.
It will ultimately include new docks and pilings, upgraded power facilities, Wi-Fi access and in-slip pump out abilities.
In addition, Wise said that there will be a new security system in place as well, featuring electronic gates and high-definition video monitoring.
Wise, the former chairman of the Bainbridge Island Harbor Commission, separately owns two other marinas: the Home Port Marina in Pleasant Harbor on the Hood Canal, and the Port Hadlock Marina in Port Townsend.
