Bainbridge Police have arrested two more suspects in the ongoing investigation into vandalism of police vehicles on June 11.

Deputy Police Chief Mark Duncan said officers arrested 18-year-old Colin Bowman at 4 p.m. Wednesday, on suspicion participating in the vandalism of police cars. Bowman, a 2008 graduate of Bainbridge High School, was booked into Kitsap County Jail on a felony malicious mischief charge. His bail was set at $50,000.

A 17-year-old was also taken into custody at 9:30 a.m. Thursday “based on evidence that was uncovered during the investigation surrounding the damage to the police department’s vehicles,” according to a police release.

Duncan said police were sill talking to the juvenile at the station Thursday morning, the juvenile likely would be transported later to a detention facility.

Police made an initial arrest in the vandalism case June 13, placing 18-year-old Samuel Bice in custody at Bainbridge High School. Bice pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree malicious mischief in Kitsap Superior Court on Monday, and was released on personal recognizance.

Duncan would not say whether more arrests were forthcoming but said police are still working the case.

“We’re still continuing the investigation,” Dun can said. “It’s not over.”

Police believe the incident took place between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. on June 11, when vandals dumped and sprayed paint on eight Bainbridge Police vehicles parked at the station on Winslow Way. Tires were slashed on five of the vehicles. A car driven by Police Chief Matt Haney also was vandalized at his island home the same morning.

Damage was estimated at $12,000, a number that is expected to increase as repairs to the station’s parking lot are completed.
