The Diamondbacks won the Bainbridge Island Little League AA Championship Tournament Saturday afternoon.
After an impressive 9-3 regular season, the Diamondbacks continued their success throughout the tournament.
The championship game versus the Yankees was a fierce battle throughout much of the game. At times, it would be only two runs that separated who would be declared champions.
But, in the fifth inning, the Diamondbacks’ bats came alive and the players drove in five runs to take the lead for the remainder of the game.
Though the Yankees made a valiant attempt in the sixth inning to pull ahead, it was met with fierce pitching from the Diamondbacks, which resulted with the DBacks forging a 14-7 win.
