The Bainbridge Island School District is hosting a workshop for parents with children who have an IEP (individualized education program) next week at Hyla Middle School.
“Special Education and the Law” will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18.
The workshop will be hosted by parent John Rossi and Bill Mosiman, the school district’s executive director of instructional support services. The session is the first in a series of Special Education Law trainings offered by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.
The meeting is a precursor to other training sessions that may be offered depending on the response to this event.
The workshop is in Room E at Hyla Middle School, 7861 Bucklin Hill Road. There is no charge for the training, though donations will be accepted. Attendees should bring a lunch.
Seating is limited; interested parents should respond to the Evite at http://new.evite.com/?utm_source=other_email&utm_medium=email&utm_content=text&utm_campaign=host_conf#view_invite:eid=005FNC2ZTL7RSYATAEPCILYBD3WO3A.
