A protester staged a demonstration at a busy Bainbridge Island intersection Wednesday, holding signs that were difficult to miss.

Robin Hordon, peace activist and representative of the Puget Sound Peace Presence organization, does up to five protests per week all over the Northwest and decided to bring his message to Bainbridge Island.

During the thick afternoon traffic at the corner of High School Road and State Route 305 Hordon performed his protest, or what he calls “civil informationing,” in front of a myriad of passersby and commuters.

Hordon had a lot to say, as his signs would imply. His message ranged from promoting green energy to seeking the truth about 9/11, all as a means of promoting peace. He also was expressing solidarity with the Occupy Wall Street protests currently occurring around the country.

“This is all 100 percent about peace,” Hordon said.

Over the course of the afternoon, drivers honked in support while Hordon shook hands and handed out fliers — a few insulting gestures were also witnessed.

“For every middle finger I get for doing this, I get at least 200 positive responses from people,” Hordon said.
