Ayron Jones & The Way, a Seattle-based blues rock band, will perform at the Treehouse Café in Lynwood at 8 p.m. Friday, June 19.
Guitarist and frontman Jones has become one of Seattle’s hottest up-and-comers with his own unique brand of Northwest rock.
Jones has taken a hybrid style of guitar playing pioneered by Jimi Hendrix, in which the chord and solo are played at the same time, and infused the raw energy of punk with the inner-city attitude of hip-hop.
The result is a soulful reincarnation of that iconic Seattle sound.
Jones formed Ayron Jones & The Way in 2010 and the group has been racking up accolades since, including having opened for B.B. King, Living Colour, The Presidents of the United States of America, Train and more.
The band soon grabbed the attention of the media, as well as Seattle hip-hop icon and Grammy award-winning rapper Sir Mix A-Lot.
After seeing the band perform live, Mix A-Lot approached the group and went on to produce their first album “Dream,” due out this fall.
The band has also been invited to perform at premier music festivals including Bumbershoot, Mount Baker Rhythm and Blues Festival and Summer Meltdown.
The group will rock the Treehouse Café stage at 8 p.m. Friday, June 19.
