The Spartans played the role of road warriors and rolled to a 42-18 victory over Ingraham in a Metro League wrestling matchup in Seattle late last week.
The meet started with a double forfeit in the 106- and 113-pound classes, but Spartan sophomore Jonathan Gallivan got Bainbridge off to a winning start with an 8-4 decision over Ingraham’s Liam Kinkaid.
The Rams followed with two victories — Riley Caulfield (126-pound) pinned Spartan freshman Chaney Weaver in 3:28 and BHS forfeited the 132-pound class to Antoin Combs — before Bainbridge went on a tear and won the next six matches.
Spartan sophomore Liam Topham (138) battled Khang Nguyen to a 6-5 decision.
Dylan Read (145) pinned Ingraham’s Richard Hill in 5:12.
Alex Hoover (152) won with a pin of Jude Capilli in 1:05.
Bryce MacDonald (160) then followed with another win-by-pin over Sebastiano Piriano in 3:28.
The Spartans then speeded things up. Weber Coryell (170) pinned Liam Comidy in 2:32, and fellow senior Tyler Moniz (182) pinned Cameron Wild in 58 seconds.
The Rams recovered for one final win in the match, as Briar Cross (195) pinned Spartan freshman John Zhang in 59 seconds.
The meet closed out with a forfeit win by Bainbridge’s Mike Grant (220) and a double forfeit in the 285-pound class.
