Monday, July 30

11:51 a.m. A wallet was stolen from a church on Sunrise Drive.

One of the church’s pastors went to help with some of the children who were playing outside. While she was away, her wallet was taken from her office.

The pastor did note that a suspicious man came around the church two days in a row and gave her an uneasy feeling.

11:12 p.m. Police found two young men and two young women smoking marijuana in a bong at a parking lot on Wyatt Way. Police confiscated grinders, a bong and small containers of marijuana.

Wednesday, August 1

10:21 a.m. A candidate for the 23rd District reported to police that 14 political signs for his campaign were stolen from locations on the island. The signs are valued at $15 each.

11:31 p.m. A resident on High School Road woke to the sight of another man outside his bedroom window.

The man’s dog woke him up, and he jumped out of bed to see what the commotion was about. He then saw the man standing outside his window.

The resident yelled to the man that he had a gun. The man then left.

When the resident turned on the outside lights to his home and looked out the front windows, he couldn’t see anyone but did hear another man whistling back toward his home from the dark.

Thursday, August 2

3:33 p.m. An island women told police her ex-husband was harassing her. She said that she previously instructed her ex not to contact her unless it had to do with the exchange of their daughter, but recently he has been calling, texting and posting things to her Facebook page.

His messages are generally insulting. She was suspicious that he has been following her since his contact is always when she gets home. She told police it is as if he is a step ahead of her. Neighbors have also witnessed her ex-husband running by the house even though the residence is on a dead-end road.

The woman was in the process of getting a no-contact order.

Saturday, August 4

4:04 a.m. Police responded to a report of a domestic verbal dispute on Madison Avenue and Knechtel Way.

The dispute was between a brother and sister who had left a party in the area. They were walking and got into an argument. The brother yelled at his sister and told her she was worthless.

The brother was angry that his sister refused to give him his wallet and cell phone that was in her purse.

Police provided a courtesy ride home for the sister.
