Claire Hobelmann is the new outdoor intern at the Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District.

Hobelmann hails from St. Petersburg, Florida and came west to pursue her passion for outdoor adventure. She previously worked for the University of South Florida’s Outdoor Recreation program as an adventure trip leader and enjoys hiking and backpacking.

She is looking forward to experiencing all of the outdoor activities that the island has to offer.

Hobelmann said she hopes to gain expertise and insights through her Bainbridge parks internship, especially since she would like to become a trip leader for the National Outdoor Leadership School or an outdoor recreation coordinator at a university in the future.
