Bainbridge police make drug bust in Port Townsend

Bainbridge Island Police officers raided a Port Townsend home last Friday, arresting three suspects thought to be involved in drug-related crimes on the island.

BIPD Lt. Sue Shultz confirmed the operation took place, but could not give many details on the operation.

“The search warrant resulted in the arrests of three male subjects,” she said. “There’s not much else to tell because this is an ongoing investigation.”

Police also seized an undisclosed amount of weapons, drugs and cash in the search.

The raid was conducted with backup from the Port Townsend police. Sgt. Ed Green said the bust involved an ongoing drug investigation, involving heroin and cocaine.

“Bainbridge police followed up on a lead and served a search warrant on Friday,” Green said. “We made sure they had plenty of people to back them up when they served the warrant.”

Shultz said that although the men were booked in Jefferson County Jail, the arrests were made in connection to a drug investigation on the island.

“The search was based on information developed out of Bainbridge Island,” Shultz said. “Anytime we can stop drugs is a significant event.”

Those that were arrested were confirmed as Mark Ohl, 35, Ronald Hawk, 64, and David Roberts, 38, all were booked into Jefferson County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
