Power goes out on Bainbridge Island

The outage occurred shortly after 1 p.m. Monday.

Eagle Harbor Book Co. posted on its Facebook page that it currently has power provided by a generator, but that the rest of downtown Winslow is in the dark.

Karin Lehotsky, owner of Lollipop’s Children’s Boutique, has continued to work despite the power outage. She has been putting up holiday decorations by candlelight, Lehotsky said.

Other reports of other power outages range up Madison Avenue, and as far down as Fort Ward.

The wet and windy weather is expected to stick around through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Seattle, as one storm system after another moves through the area.

The Kitsap County Emergency Operations Center went to Phase 2 at 1:15 p.m. Monday to prepare for problems caused by heavy rains and breezy conditions, county officials said.

County officials said they have received reports of flooding, roadways congested with overflowing culverts, high tides and collisions.
