The letter to the editor from Kathleen J. Alcala about our Cave Avenue subdivision requires a response even though conventional wisdom would be to not do so.

Bainbridge Island is a small community that operates very well. We have many citizens who are dedicated to making the island a great place to live. I hope it will continue.

But I fear it is under attack by those who do not do their homework.

The Cave Avenue subdivision public record shows that the information provided by Kathleen J. Alcala is inaccurate.

For a community to be successful and for our decision-makers to continue to value its citizens’ input, it is the responsibility of each citizen to provide accurate information.

Passion for an issue is no excuse for being uninformed.
