Ride a bike to work or school on May 20 | Letters | May 13

Squeaky Wheels has been supporting and advocating for safe, accessible, and family friendly cycling on the island since 1995. For us, there are two very important cycling events this month:

• Bike to Work is a month- long event with more than 1,100 Puget Sound teams signed up this year, with a event on Friday, May 20.

• Bike to School Day, a day-long supported by island schools since 1998, will also be held on May 20.

Squeaky Wheels is working with Cascade Bicycle Club in Seattle), B.I. Cycle and Classic Cycle to encourage all Islanders to consider riding to work and school this month, especially on May 20.

Help us meet a challenge to have more cyclists (203-plus) on a commuter ferry boat than cars (202) on that Friday.

For more information please see our website – http://www.squeakywheels.org, Cascade’s website – http://www.cbcef.org/btw/cc.html, and visit our local bike shops.
