Bainbridge (23-5) cruised through its first two SeaKing District Tournament games Thursday, and needs just one more win to secure a 3A state tournament berth.

In their first game against Ingraham, a rematch of the May 12 Metro Tournament contest, the seventh-ranked Spartans defeated the Rams 16-0 in five innings.

Lauren Reichert (7-4) struck out seven and gave up three hits.

Sophomore Hailey Willmann was two-for-three with two RBIs.

With the win, Bainbridge advanced to meet the second seed from the KingCo, Mount Si.

The Spartans knocked in seven first-inning runs and brought in four runs in the second, taking an 11-2 lead going into the third.

Bainbridge withstood Mount Si’s five-run rally in the bottom of the fourth, and held on for the 11-8 win.

Senior Haylee Baker earned the win, throwing four innings and striking out two.

The Spartans will take on fourth-ranked Holy Names at 12 p.m. Friday.

Bainbridge last hosted Holy Names May 4, cruising to a 13-1 victory.

The Cougars defeated Bishop Blanchet 15-5 in five innings Thursday afternoon.

If Bainbridge beats Holy Names, the team will play for the district title at 4 p.m. and automatically secure a state tournament berth as a top two seed from the SeaKing District.

If the Spartans lose, they will play in an elimination game at 2 p.m. before playing for the third and fourth state tournament berths at 4 p.m.
