BAINBRIDGE – The Cougars came to play, but didn’t leave unscathed by Bainbridge as the Spartans pushed Holy Names Academy to four sets in girls volleyball during their Metro League matchup earlier this week.

Holy Names — currently ranked No. 3 in the state in 3A volleyball — defeated Bainbridge 25-12, 25-17, 23-25, 25-15.

Bainbridge was led by Hannah Wagner, who contributed 19 kills and 16 digs for the Spartans.

Teammate Kate Merifield finished with 32 digs, and Mary Burgess added seven kills.

Emilia Dronkert also came up big, with 27 assists and five blocks.
