Islanders earn degrees at WGU

Five students from Bainbridge Island have received their degrees from WGU Washington.

Five students from Bainbridge Island have received their degrees from WGU Washington.

The new graduates are:

Corinne Worth, master of science degree in nursing (leadership and management);

Beth Mass, bachelor of arts in interdisciplinary studies (K-8);

Darryn Achall, bachelor of science in information technology (software emphasis);

Alexander Wisniewski, master’s degree in business administration  (management and strategy); and

Paul Kiendel, bachelor of science degree in information technology.

The university held its fifth annual commencement ceremony at Seattle’s Key Arena on April 16 and celebrated the graduation of more than 1,900 graduates.

At commencement, the state-based university awarded nearly 1,900 bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business, information technology, K-12 teacher education, and healthcare professions, including nursing.

Graduates reside in all 39 counties in Washington state. Dr. Gene Sharratt, executive director of the Washington Student Achievement Council, delivered the commencement address.
