Kids, adults: Sing your hearts out

Burgeoning songbirds have a chance to fly; both the Bainbridge Chorale and its Young Singers group seek additions for their 2009-2010 seasons.

The Chorale has openings in all voice parts and is in particular need of tenors and basses.

Young Singers has openings in its two youth choirs, as well as its Exploration Class for kids in grades K-1.

For information or to schedule an audition for either group, call 780-CHOR or see www.bainbridgechorale.org.

Boys will bring down the house

Each year Bethany Lutheran Church begins the fall season with a celebration and welcoming worship service, followed by food and fun.

And music, too – this year, toe tapping and head nodding will be in full force when the Cascade Mountain Boys perform bluegrass and gospel at the 10 a.m. service on Sept. 13.

Bainbridge Island’s own Roger Ferguson plays mandolin and fiddle along with bandleader Mike Faast on bass, Jamie Blair on banjo and Terry Enyeart on guitar.

A potluck luncheon will follow the group’s full-length concert.

For more information, call the church, 7968 Finch Road, at 842-4241 or email the church office, info@bethanyofbainbridge.org.
