Tuesday, Aug. 5

10:24 a.m. Rocks were thrown at the windshield of a Subaru in the middle of the night.

The car owner left his vehicle at around 8:30 p.m. and returned the next morning to find his windshield cracked. A rock was on the car hood and another was found on the ground nearby.

The estimated damage was $350.

Wednesday, Aug. 6

11:21 p.m. Officers were called after a father had used his car to run over his son.

The son told police that his father had been drinking all day and had been intoxicated for most of the last three or four days. In that time, the mother told police, he has been quick to anger.

Around dinner time, the father walked outside after getting angry over cutting salad for the family. While he was outside, the son poured his father’s glass of wine down the sink and hid his car keys on the other side of the house.

When the father found both items missing, he became more angry. He began accusing his son of trying to take all the power in the house.

He then loaded up his vehicle with a sleeping bag and kayak, took the spare key from behind the license plate and prepared to leave. The son ran out in the street and stood right in front of the hood of the vehicle to stop his father from driving. The father continued forward. Although the son was never pulled under the car nor did the car go over any part of his body, the son was pushed backward and forced to the ground on the driver’s side of the car as his father drove past.

Later, police found the father’s car while patrolling. The kayak was gone.

When called on his cell phone, the father told police he was fine but refused to answer any questions.
