Windermere fund keeps Helpline House healthy | Letters | April 23

I would like to thank the Windermere Foundation and our local Windermere Real Estate office for their ongoing support of Helpline House. I want to thank Jim Laws and all of the agents of the Bainbridge Island office for making donations to this fund from all of their real estate transactions.

At the beginning of the school year, our neighbors at Windermere were instrumental in helping us to offer new clothing to school children in need. They now have donated a sum of money that will go toward funding 15 scholarships for summer activities.

Last year we helped more than 200 children participate in enriching activities like soccer, football, music, science and the environment. Without gifts such as the one from Windermere, these opportunities would not be available to these families.

Without this type of assistance from the Bainbridge Island community, Helpline House would not be able to offer the diverse services and programs that it does to our neighbors in need. All of the people who contribute to Helpline House with time or money truly allow us to make a difference on this wonderful island.

Susan Vincent,

Board president
