Eleven Winery, Talia Hunt and Ian O’Keefe received awards from the Bainbridge Island/North Kitsap Interfaith Council at their June meeting.

Eleven Winery received the groups Tikkun Olam (“Heal the World”) award for its focus on sustainability, environmentally green business practices.

In accepting the award, winery owner Matt Albee said that while he hopes his company gets much bigger, it would not be at the expense of his commitment to making the world a better place.

“It’s not just about money,” Albee said.

Graduating seniors Talia Hunt of the LDS church and Ian O’Keefe of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church were both honored as Bob Satterwhite Memorial Scholarship recipients for their leadership, service and caring for the community growing out of their faith traditions.

In making the awards, both Satterwhite’s son Rob and Elizabeth Dequine of the IFC noted that recommendations for the students highlighted their consistent and wide-ranging engagement in compassionate action. Taylor Cozine of Grace Episcopal received an honorable mention.
