The NIMBYs are active again, throwing up their collective hands at the thought of possible improvements to electric service on Bainbridge. For whatever reason, these worthies take it upon themselves to decide what’s best for everyone.

It’s only a simple matter of turning down their thermostats if they wish to live in primitive conditions. But when they interfere with my comfort and well-being they go too far!

So here’s another acronym: “M.Y.O.B.”

If PSE wants to improve service and reliability on this island I’m all for it. For 30-plus years, when power outages have occurred, I have waited –sometimes for hours, sometimes for days – for restoration.

Living on the island’s south end makes my area always last to be restored. Your meddling isn’t going to improve that picture. Stop citing non-existent studies or personal philosophies. If you cannot back up your arguments with documented fact, shut up!

And before you compose your scathing response to my letter, you should know that all electric service lines in my area are underground. Why aren’t yours?
