Create Bainbridge will close on March 15.

In an email to customers on Feb. 26, Create Bainbridge owner Joanna Arndt said she was closing her arts-and-crafts supply store in the Island Village Shopping Center.

Arndt said she had planned to sell the business, but at the last minute, the buyers backed out.

The store opened in the shopping center on High School Road this past August as a rebranded version of Paper Products, the Winslow Way staple that closed in July.

Unfortunately, a new location and expanded inventory was not enough to save the business, which was consuming Arndt’s nights, weekends, holidays — and, most importantly — time with her family.

The store is now in “close down” mode; all inventory is 50 percent off. “The size of the discount will increase as we get closer and closer to our closing date,” Arndt addd. “In addition, all the infrastructure is for sale: point of sale system, fixtures, displays. It all has to go.”

Create Bainbridge will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Tuesday, March 15, except on Sundays, when the store will remain closed.
