A high wind warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for the greater Puget Sound region and will remain in place from 6 p.m. Thursday through 7 a.m. Friday.
The National Weather Service is forecasting strong southerly winds of 20 to 35 mph, with gusts from 45 to 55 mph expected through Friday morning.
The warning means hazardous or damaging winds are expected, and the potential exists for falling trees and power outages.
Up to an inch of rain is expected on Bainbridge Island Thursday night.
A second storm, a remnant of tropical typhoon Songda, will pass through the region on Saturday. High winds are also expected through Sunday.
