To the editor:

The news on climate change is alarming. One heat record after another is being broken. Ice melt is accelerating and already island nations are tragically impacted.

We can’t hope it will all go away because we are too busy worrying about other problems.

Fortunately in our state we take positive action. We can vote for Initiative 732, the revenue neutral carbon tax. This innovative program has been proven to work in British Columbia, and is supported by a wide range of economists, scientists and politicians from both sides of aisle.

For the sake of our future and especially for our children, let’s act on climate change. Let’s make a carbon tax a reality in our state and serve as a model for the nation. Please vote yes on I-732.
