Tickets are now on sale for Bainbridge Historical Museum’s “Save Our History” Raffle.

Organizers said the first prize can be as much as $5,000 cash, as the prize is on the amount raised by 20 percent of tickets sold. Last year, a check for $4,853 was awarded to the first-place winners.

The “Save Our History” Raffle is the Bainbridge Historical Museum’s biggest fundraiser, and helps the museum to continue to preserve and share the wonderful history of Bainbridge Island. The raffle drawing will be Dec. 3.

This year’s second prize is a handcrafted cherry hall tree donated by McKinnon Furniture, and the prize is valued at $2,599. It now sits in the museum lobby waiting for the lucky ticket holder. The third prize this year is an Apple iPad.

Raffle tickets are available from museum board members who will be selling tickets around the Island during the month of November; tickets are $10 for one, $25 for three.

Tickets are also on sale at the museum. The museum is at 215 Erickson Avenue and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets can also be ordered by phone at 206-842-2773 or online at www.bainbridgehistory.org. Each ticket stub is worth a free admission to the museum.

This past year, the award-winning museum hosted more than 10,000 visitors from 48 states and 39 foreign countries, and a total of 766 students participated in history programs led by the museum’s talented teacher docents. The Ansel Adams exhibit “A Portrait of Manzanar” continues to engage visitors, as does “The Overland Westerners.”
