‘Love ’Em or Leave ’Em’ 5K race is a big success

The Go Run! team held the “Love ’Em or Leave ’Em” 5K at Greenlake on Saturday, Feb. 8 and more than 1,000 runners and walkers, along with 20 Go Run! team members and several coaches, completed the event.

GREENLAKE – The Go Run! team held the “Love ’Em or Leave ’Em” 5K at Greenlake on Saturday, Feb. 8 and more than 1,000 runners and walkers, along with 20 Go Run! team members and several coaches, completed the event.

For many on the team, it was their first 5K attempt.

Despite their inexperience, and some minor seasonal illnesses, they managed to finish the course with many respectable times ranging from 24 to 52 minutes.

Go Run! is a local nonprofit sports team working to enhance the lives of fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade girls physically, emotionally, and socially. Running activities include all participating girls in a team experience with goal-setting, positive adult mentoring and leadership opportunities.
