J’Aime les Crepes, the Kingston-based creperie which opened a second location earlier this year on Madrone Lane, was awarded second place in this year’s KING5 Evening Magazine’s “Best of Western Washington.”
“This contest is really the biggest one in the area,” explained Paul Pluska, owner of J’Aime les Crepes.
“We are in the top three, runner up actually this year,” Pluska said. “There are probably around 100 creperies in western Washington, around 55 were nominated and we are a finalist.”
Though he said he was proud of the achievement, such recognition and praise is nothing new for Pluska and his staff.
Previous to opening the Bainbridge branch, J’Aime les Crepes had been voted best crepes by KING5 “several times.”
Pluska said he was particularly pleased to see that he and his staff could expand, open a second branch and increase productivity without sacrificing the quality that had made them successful.
“Still happy, considering how new we are on Madrone lane,” he said.
KING5 ranks crepes under their list of best “cheap eats” along with barbecue, food trucks, pizza, breakfast, burgers and more.
The top-ranked place for crepes this year was Savor in Tacoma.
The third place spot went to The Crepe Escape & Coffee House in Snohomish.
