Coyote Willow
Coyote Willow, the dynamic duo of Kat Hilst and Tim Coffey, will take the stage at 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 29 for a free 21-and-over show.
The pair weave genre-crossing lines to create an extraordinary musical journey that has grown over the past five years of partnership. In the last year, they’ve opened for Shawn Mullins and Sean Watkins (Nickel Creek). Hilst started playing piano at 5, graduated from Oberlin Conservatory and once worked for the San Francisco Opera.
Coffey hit the road at 19 and spent 20 years as a professional touring backup guitarist. His voice and songwriting drew the attention of Breedlove Guitars, who invited him to join their stable of artists.
They joined forces during the recording of their first CD, ”Strings Unbound” in 2010, and recorded “The Lonely Grange Sessions” in 2012. In 2015, they rebranded themselves as Coyote Willow and began working on their next release “Falling to Home.”
The duo is a regional favorite, performing at multiple venues, festivals and private events throughout the Pacific Northwest. Musically and lyrically, their tunes range from rockabilly to the open tuned and lyrically moving folk style, as well as instrumentals and even gypsy jazz.
Chebon Tiger
Renowned bluesman Chebon Tiger returns to the Treehouse at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 30 for a free 21-and-over concert.
His skill as a singer, guitarist and harmonica player are second to none, and audiences across the nation have been appreciating his unique stamp on the blues for the past two decades.
A recipient of many awards, Chebon has shared stages and opened for such revered artists as Ian Moore, Watermelon Slim, Gov’t Mule, Joe Bonamassa, The Forty Fours, Bobby Rush and others — all the while maintaining a grueling performing schedule as a bandleader and contributor to other projects.
His Treehouse band always brings a chemistry that testifies to their years together and love for music. Their material, whether cover or original, at once satisfies a wide range of blues, funk and rock tastes.
Knucklehead
Knucklehead —- “Kitsap County’s oldest and still hottest rockers” — will keep the party going classic rock style with a free show at 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 1.
The band is a classic rock power trio, based out of Bremerton, and consists of Tim McGovern on guitar, Jeff Omeron on drums and bassist Scott Pollock. The boys’ setlist includes covers of such beloved Americana classics as Tom Petty, ZZ Top, Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, Journey, Bad Company, Ted Nuget, Johnny Cash and many more.
Ayron Jones and The Way
Seattle guitarist and frontman Ayron Jones (Eh-Rahn) has taken a hybrid style of guitar playing pioneered by Jimi Hendrix, in which the chord and solo are played at the same time, and infused the raw energy of punk with the inner-city attitude of hip-hop. The result is a soulful reincarnation of that iconic Seattle sound, coming to Lynwood for a 21-and-over show at 8 p.m. Saturday,
July 2. Tickets are on sale; the cost is $15 in advance or $20 at the door.
In 2010, Jones started Ayron Jones and The Way, a three-piece blues rock band.
By the summer of 2012, the band had been making appearances on local Seattle radio shows and had opened for the legendary Robert Cray.
The band soon grabbed the attention of the local media, and more importantly Seattle hip-hop icon and Grammy award-winning rapper Sir Mix-A-Lot. After seeing the band perform live, Mix-A-Lot approached them and offered to produce their album.
In March of 2014, the band opened for the legendary B.B. King at a sold-out show at the famed Moore Theatre. They also performed on NPR’s Livewire! radio show in April and just wrapped up a West Coast tour that included seven states, including spots opening for Living Colour, The Presidents of The United States of America, Michael Franti & Spearhead and Train.
