Many to thank for major ‘Arts Detour’ | Letters | May 13

It was a gray and drizzly evening, but that didn’t stop hardy islanders from coming to check out the downtown First Friday art walk and the music sounding from the Winslow Mall.

Bainbridge Island City Repair was proud to co-sponsor with the city the “Arts Detour” Winslow Mall festivities, and extends its thanks to the generous volunteers, organizations, and business owners who helped make the party happen: Richard, Martha and Amy of Oil & Water; Karen at Lollipops; Andy at Westside Pizza; Jane at The Berry Patch; Stephanie at Blinx; Hugh at Eagle Harbor Winery; Teriyaki Town; Possum’s Boutique; DJ Sean Maestro, Heather Wolf, and the Island Vibes posse; Chele’s Kitchen, Greg Blumberg with Morris Piha Real Estate Services; Glen of Winslow Mall maintenance; Bainbridge Island Arts & Humanities Council; Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District; Town & Country; Chamber of Commerce; Sound Reprographics; Gerlind of Zero Waste; Dave at Bainbridge Disposal; Hilary & Eric of RePower Bainbridge; all the participating artists (winners featured in the Oil & Water windows); banner designer Cynthia Dice; Deborah and Connie, who provided guidance painting the banners; and our pizza/staging crew consisting of Cathie Currie, Donna Dahlquist, Mark Davis, Pam Galvani, Maureen Nolan, Ray Nowak and Ryan Vancil.

What’s a little construction among friends? Simply a detour and a chance to change our Winslow ways.
