On behalf of the School Board, district administrators, staff and students, we would like to express our appreciation to the citizens of Bainbridge Island.
The many needs for taxpayer dollars in these difficult economic times are well known, and passage of the Educational Programs and Operations Levy was far from assumed.
District staff and board members were thrilled and humbled to find that the Feb. 9 levy indeed passed by one of the largest margins among Washington school districts on the ballot: 74.24 percent!
We are so very grateful percent!
We are so very grateful for the work of a citizen’s committee, chaired by Julie Yunt and Trish Franznick.
We are also grateful to the community, whose votes now provide the K-12 classroom support that the children of Bainbridge Island need and deserve.
This is indeed a marvelous community that has once again come through for education as a value of very high priority to citizens.
Thank you for your commitment to our community’s children, your faith in our school system and your financial support.
