Longtime Bainbridge Island resident Phyllis Marion Hyde Steiner, age 97, died Nov. 14.
She was born Sept. 4, 1904 to Joseph Francis Bernard Hyde and Winifred Cecilia Hyde, who brought her to Washington State in 1905:
She was married to Griffith Dean Steiner, who preceded her in death in 1959. She was a resident of Bainbridge Island (on Point White Drive and then near Winslow) from 1970 until shortly before her death.
Three sisters preceded her in death: Winifred Hyde of Bainbridge Island, Audrey Reynolds, and Jane Finlay.
She is survived by daughter Phyllis S. Frothingham of Massachusetts; sons Dr. Griffith R. Steiner of Alaska and Judge D. Gary Steiner of Washington; brother Bernard A. Hyde; brother-in-law J. Clyde Finlay; son-in-law Thomas E. Frothingham and daughter-in-law Maribeth Conway Steiner; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
