Roger F. Donahoe

Roger F. Donahoe, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2010 at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton, Washington from pancreatic cancer. He was born on March 30, 1940 in Aberdeen, WA and was 70 years of age. He was a resident of Bainbridge Island, WA.  

Roger worked as an attorney specializing in estate planning and trust law. He had more than 35 years experience in all phases of the trust business, from business development to primary trust legal and fiduciary support and worked with local law firms and referral sources. He worked for Security Pacific Bank where he was a senior staff attorney and manager of the trust legal department. He later worked as general counsel and corporate secretary for Laird Norton Tyee.

Roger earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Washington and graduated with honors from the Trust Division of Pacific Coast Banking School. He was a member of the Washington State and King County Bar Association’s and past president of the Estate Planning Council of Seattle. Roger also served as the chairman of the University of Washington Estate Planning Board for four years. He was a proud US Army Veteran.

Roger enjoyed being with his family, vegetable gardening and reading historical fiction. He was a member of the Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church on Bainbridge Island. 

Roger is survived by his wife April Donahoe of Bainbridge Island, daughter Shannon Donahoe of Forest Park, Illinois, brother and sister in-law Floyd Luke and Sue Herweck of Bainbridge Island, nieces Olivia, Claire and Taylor also of Bainbridge Island, brother and sister in-law Bud and Diane Evans of Chewelah, WA, and nieces and nephews, Maggie Evans of Boulder, CO, Ben Evans of Paris, France, Darcy Donahoe Wilmont of Sammamish, WA and Megan Sanders of Texas. Roger was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Edna Donahoe and his brother David Donahoe.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Memorial Service on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church, 11042 Sunrise Drive NE on Bainbridge Island.
