Barbara Llewellyn Sturdivant, age 90, died Jan. 15 in Poulsbo.
She was born July 26, 1913, in Winslow to Lester and Lillian (Button) Morrill.
She graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1932 and attended nursing school in Seattle.
She married Everett Reid Sturdivant, of Hoquiam, Wash., on June 25, 1938 at her parents’ home.
They lived in Hoquiam until 1949, when they moved to Spokane.
In 1977, Everett retired from Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Co., and the couple traveled extensively through out the United States, Canada and Mexico.
When her husband died in 1987, she continued to travel, visiting Russia, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Holland, New Zealand, Australia, the Caribbean, Hawaii and Alaska.
She enjoyed playing bingo and pinochle, and was an avid salmon and trout fisherman.
She was a active member of the Order Of Eastern Star for 56 years, and served as Worthy Matron of Spokane Chapter in Spokane, and Priscilla Chapter in Port Gamble. She was also a member of Ladies Oriental Shrine and Amaranth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, brother Lester “Worth” Morrill, and son Jay Lee Sturdivant.
She is survived by daughter Elaine and son-in-law Trude (Gil) Gilman, Jr., of Kingston; brother Lawrence Morrill of Bremerton, one sister Katherine Hughes of Fresno, Calif.; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 24 at Liberty Shores, 19360 Viking Avenue in Poulsbo.
