Sarah Gordon

June 19, 1922 – January 21, 2011

      Sarah Gordon (nee Schneeweiss) passed away on Friday, January 21, 2011, on Bainbridge Island, WA.

      She was born in 1922 on the lower east side of Manhattan; married her beloved husband Abe Gordon on March 24, 1943; lived in Fort Myers, FL, Brooklyn NY, and then in our family home in Laurelton, Queens, NY; worked as a school secretary mainly at John Adams High School; and retired to West Palm Beach, FL, then Irvine, CA, and then Bainbridge Island. Sarah had a long, loving marriage to Abe, who predeceased her.  We miss her selflessness and unconditional love. Sarah is survived by her son Elliot Gordon of Irvine, along with his children, Lauren, Erica, and Michael; and by her daughter Sheryl Gordon McCloud of Bainbridge, along with her children Aaron and Evan.  Her brother Sam Schneeweiss and her sister Kay Yeargans predeceased her. 

      A memorial service was on held Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at Harbor Lawn – Mt. Olive Memorial Park & Mortuary, Costa Mesa, CA. 

      Donations may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute of Boston in Sarah’s name. Arrangements entrusted to Cook Family Funeral Home, Bainbridge Island, WA.
