Lifelong Bainbridge resident Edna Dorothy Flodin died Feb. 24 at age 98, at Messenger House on Bainbridge Island.
One of nine children, she was born Nov. 21, 1904 in Eagledale to Charles Victor and Jennie Lundgren.
To attend Winslow High School, she had to row a boat across Eagle Harbor. She graduated in 1922.
In 1928 she married Maldur H. Flodin, also an island native. He preceded her in death in 1979.
Her hobbies were gardening and travel, although her main interest in life was her family.
She is survived by sons Roger (Mardette) of Bellevue; Lyle (Ada) of Sequim; four grandsons, two granddaughters, six great grandsons, two great-granddaughters, her sister Mildred Ostrand of Bainbridge Island, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. April 5 at Bethany Lutheran Church on Bainbridge Island.
