Friday, March 27

6:36 p.m. Two Bainbridge islanders crashed into each other while pulling out of the parking lot at Town & Country Market.

The man, 38, was driving a 2007 Toyota Highlander, and the woman, 64, was in a 1999 Lexus.

Both drivers were backing out of opposing spots in the lot, and the man said she had backed out more quickly but the woman said she was completely pulled out, stopped and ready to drive away at the time of the accident.

9:40 p.m. A 21-year-old man in a 1972 Chevy pickup pulled out of a parking lot onto Lynwood Center and accelerated at a high rate of speed; the truck fishtailed and the driver lost control.

The truck went across the roadway and struck a parked 2007 Scion owned by a 48-year-old Poulsbo woman.

Both vehicles received extensive damage and needed to be towed.

The driver of the truck, a Randolph, Massachusetts resident, said he had insurance but could not produce a valid card. He was cited for no valid proof of insurance and inattentive driving.

Thursday, March 26

7:24 a.m. A 64-year-old Kingston man in a 2005 Dodge Dakota pickup was driving south on Highway 305 south of Seabold Church Road when the driver in front of him suddenly slowed down causing him to be rear-ended.

The other driver, a 44-year-old Poulsbo man in a 2012 Toyota RAV4, said he braked to avoid hitting a bald eagle in the roadway.

No one was hurt in the accident.
