Ellen Jean Landaker

Ellen Jean Landaker, age 83, died March 20 at Messenger House Care Center on Bainbridge Island.

She was born Feb. 11, 1921, in Everett, Mich., the daughter of Bruce and Muriel (Shannon) Cass.

After graduation from Everett High School she married George Henry “Bus” Landaker. They moved to Portland in 1943.

She was a homemaker and ceramist. She raised four children and many of her grandchildren.

In 2000 she moved to the Kingston area to be near two of her daughters.

She is survived by one son, Lester Bruce “Butch” Landaker, North Plains, Ore.; three daughters, Brenda Joyce Townsend of Poulsbo, Sally Louise Sullivan of Kingston, and Nancy Lee Lind of Boring, Ore.; four brothers, Richard Cass, Harold Cass, Paul Cass, Dwayne Cass, all of Everett, Mich.; two sisters, Donna Scroggins, Portland, Ore.; Dorothy Tryon, Everett, Mich.; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A private family service will be held at Willamette National Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Kass Funeral Home, Bainbridge Island.
